This year's Coastal Auto Show saw organizers moving away from solely displaying cars. The show had a different feel to it and included several sport events for young and old over two days. The third edition of the annual Coastal Auto Show saw car dealerships from Namibia displaying their products at the Moonlight Resort outside Swakopmund. The event was not only intended to unite car dealers, but also saw the industry working together to weather the tough economic environment and bring out families for some fun. Sporting activities formed a big part of the show, and thus kept the public entertained by means of netball, soccer, BMX pump track and a 4x4 obstacle course for the dealerships, as well as for the public. Fitness demonstrations from gyms at the coast got the public involved, too, as Crossfit and Zumba dominated the scene for a little while. Event organizer of the 2019 Coastal Auto Show Dave Hammond from Connect People to People, said that they brought in a larger sports aspect - not only to keep the kids busy at the show but to capitalise on the fact that sport should be an everyday feature for everybody. “I’m very happy with the outcome of the two days sport part of the show. We saw the kids enjoying every minute of the day and competition was tough between them self. Sport is a very important part of everyday live and we also try to be part in keeping our youngsters active” Hammond said The organizers off the show also explained that at the next edition of show, show goers might have even more activities to participate in.
