The World Football Governing Body FIFA has appointed five members of the Normalisation Committee that will be in charge of the Namibia Football Association until the NFA Executive members' election has been conducted. FIFA Director of Football and Development in Africa and the Caribbean, Veron Mosengo-Omba, told a media briefing in Windhoek that world football is very concerned with its Namibian chapter. As a consequence, FIFA has appointed Hilda Basson-Namundjebo as the Chairperson of a newly introduced Normalisation Committee, while Franco Cosmos serves as its Vice Chairperson. Gaby Ahrens, Matti Mwandingi and Vivien Katjiuongua will help them to stabilise Namibian Football once again. Mosengo - Omba, who did not want to take any questions from the media, eventually explained how they came up with the names of the five members. ” We have connections in FIFA. We were asking around, the people went through a test and some of those were selected who we think can do the job” Mosengo -Omba said. The Normalization Committee's tasks will be to oversee the day-to-day running of the NFA and to conduct the NFA executive members' elections. The committee is given until 31 of May 2019 to conduct the said election. According to Masengo - Omba, the committee has the power do deal with all the administrative issues at the football house including hiring and firing of employees. ”I don't know how many people are there at the Football House, but the committee can get rid of everyone if they think it is good or keep everyone. It’s up to them” he said. Basson-Namundjebo said they need to find their feet before taking any decisions. ”Some of us don't know what is going on in Football, We need to sit-down and look at the problem areas before we take any decisions” she said. According to the FIFA representative, the five members do not have the power to change the constitution but they can make recommendations.
