Namibia's Senior Women's Indoor Hockey team lost their first game by 2 - 1 against their South African counterparts in the Indoor test series in Durban, South Africa on Thursday evening. Head coach Erwin Handura said the team experienced a very good game - despite eventually losing the encounter. " We had two clear chances in the 1st half and another one in the 2nd half, but couldn't convert. Maggy Mengo got ill this morning with a throat infection and we didn't want to risk her. We hope she will be better and can play tomorrow." he said. Handura added that the players gave a commendable performance overall. "We will study the footage this evening and hope to do better in the 2nd game tomorrow morning at 10:00" he concluded. Petro Stoffberg led the team and was reportedly brilliant in goal. The team's second game in Friday will hopefully reflect their dedicated performance on the score board as well.
