The first-ever Namibia Sports Expo's official opening took place at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek on Thursday. The three-day event will have several sports activities, exhibitions, stalls, kiddies' corners and ongoing entertainment and fitness activities on offer, to keep the public busy throughout. The first-ever Namibia Annual Sports Expo started on a positive note today, with an uplifting message from the Namibian sports minister and the country's Vice President, as well as other invited guests. Vice President Nangolo Mbumba said he feels honoured to be part of this great initiative and that the government will continue to support sports federations and strengthen sports institutions in the country. “I'm thus honoured to be here this morning at our Independence Sports Stadium to officially open the first-ever Namibia Annual Sports Expo 2019. This initiative exhorts our nation's highest regards for sport and sports development and a building of a winning sports nation” Mbumba said. At the same event Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service Erastus Uutoni also mentioned that it was not easy to start an initiative of this calibre, thus he's happy that all the hard work has finally paid off. “I'm truly grateful that some corporates are really investing in sports development , especially school's sports, This can only be done with a common purpose of unity towards the creation of a conducive environment for the development of sport in the country” Uutoni said. The 2019 Namibia Sport Expo will continue until Saturday at the Hage Geingob and Independence Stadiums in Windhoek. Here is the full story.
