The Namibia Basketball Federation recently sent a young skilful team to Botswana to represent Namibia at a Three on three tournament in that country. The Namibian Under 18 girls team made their way to Gaborone, Botswana to participate against other African teams on regional level. But besides giving teams a chance to compete against one another, the tournament organisers also hosted a week-long programme comprising of life skills and basketball lessons. Speaking to NBC Sport, Namibia's team captain Petrina Aron said the lessons she learned will go a long way. "This was a very good tournament for us, I was accompanied by very new players who never played outside, this tournament has taught us to be more discipline and work together like a team" Aron said. Three on three Basketball was recently recognised as an Olympic sport code and the Namibian Basketball Federation wishes to expand the sport to open doors for the youth as well. Namibia's under 18 girls team came in fourth at the tournament.
