This weekend, the Walvisbay Private High School will play in two Momentum Rugby Board Trophy finals after previously winning their semi-finals. The two teams that will be playing in the finals are the under 14 A team of the school, and the second team, which plays in the under 19 C division. After a long school rugby league season, there's only one more game in the Momentum Rugby Boards Thophy 2019, with the finals to be held in Windhoek on Friday and Saturday. In their semi - final game against Windhoek Afrikaanse Private School, the under 14 team took the spills and walked away victoriously, winning the encounter 11-10. The occasion marked the first time that they beat Windhoek Afrikaanse Private School this season, and they hope to do the same against Windhoek Gymnasium on Saturday. “It was a nail biting game and kept us on our feet. This time around we had one on them as we lost 3 games played against WAP during the season. The final against Gym will not be easy, but we practised hard and with a few new things added we want to be the X factor” coach Herman Grobler said. The second team of the school on the other hand, had a great season, not losing a single game. They continued their form in the two play-off games over the past two weekends. They won their semi-final game against Technical High School A by 27-16, in a hard-fought encounter, coming from behind after trailing in the second half. On Saturday they will face off against Windhoek High School's fourth team in the under 19 C division, and the team believes that they will win the final. “The semi-final games were tight. We were behind in the game, but stuck to our game plan and at the end we won the game. We do not want to change much in our practise this week and we will play the same brand of Rugby we played during the year and believe we will win” team captain Zander Klaasen said. The finals kick off on Friday at 15:00, with the under 14 B final, and on Saturday at 9:00. Meanwhile, the last final, in the under 19 Super league final, is slated for 17:00.
