Windhoek - The newly-built multipurpose Rugby Stadium at Windhoek Gymnasium is in its final stage of completion. With the cafeteria, fitting rooms, toilets and storage facilities still to be finalised, the Windhoek Gymnasium's Rugby Stadium also boosts a massive pavilion estimated to seat 1000 spectators. Nbc Sport spoke to Windhoek Gymnasium's managing director Colette Rieckert on the stadium's current state. "We are busy rounding off the field with a lot of paving, planting of trees buildings etc. It should be completed by the end of November" Rieckert said. So far, Windhoek gymnasium spent roughly eight million Namibia dollars on the stadium's upgrades and 11 million Namibia dollars are expected to be spent altogether in line with the completion of the stadium. Challenges, however also arose throughout the construction. "The challenges was the water, because in this area there’s only limited semi purified water that we can use on the field. Often we had a shortage of water it’s been sorted now to a certain extent" she added. All bookings for the usage of the stadium are subjected and coordinated by Windhoek Gymnasium's school sport coordinator with terms and conditions to be followed, giving free access to sport development. Rieckert is now looking forward to the stadium’s completion and special moments and games to be played at the sport field for the development of sport in Namibia .
