Lawyer Norman Tjombe has filed a civil lawsuit on behalf of the late 9-year-old Hendrina Mupolo. Tjombe who took on the case Pro Bono is suing Johan Meyer, the man who stands accused of killing Mupolo, for an amount of N$10,1 million for emotional damages and psychological medical costs.
In the particulars of the claim, Tjombe explains that both parents of Mupolo have experienced emotional shock and severe trauma, he is therefore suing N$5 million on behalf of each parent. Additionally, he is demanding that Meyer pay N$50 000 for each parent's psychological medical needs and a further N$10 000 for the money the parents spent on the burial of their daughter.
Tjombe argues that Johan Meyer acted unlawfully and carried out a wrongful assault, and this led to Mupolo's subsequent death. The matter is postponed to 28 September. Johan Meyer is represented by Krüger van Vuuren Co. Legal practitioners.
