More Namibians to be arrested for possessing fake qualifications.

Fifteen more Namibians will soon be arrested for possessing fake qualifications, purportedly obtained from Zimbabwean colleges. They are expected to be in custody during the next few weeks and will then form part of the first group of 19 Namibians arrested for possessing similar fake qualifications in 2014. Nampa reports that the Public Prosecutor, Tatelo Lusepani, informed the court on Friday that there were 15 more suspects on forgery and fraud. Lusepani asked Windhoek Magistrate Venatius Alweendo for a postponement of the case of the first group to 4th of November, to allow investigating officers to arrest the 15 suspects. The postponement was made a final remand on Friday. Some of the young men and women allegedly used the fake qualifications to gain admission to the University of Namibia, College of the Arts and the Namibia University of Science and Technology. Others have allegedly gained admission to training and potential employment at the City Police and Namibian Defence Force. Those suspects were arrested in Windhoek in October 2014 on charges of forgery and fraud.
