President Hage Geingob and his delegation have departed to join over two thousand world leaders in the ski resort of Davos, for one of the most high-profile meetings of global leaders. This is the first time Namibia has been invited to participate in the World Economic Forum(WEF) Annual Meeting scheduled to take place from 22 - 26 May 2022 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, under the theme “History at a Turning Point: Government Policies and Business Strategies”. Namibia will at the forum announce that the country is open for business, present high-value investment opportunities in identified sectors, and engage with potential investors to stimulate foreign direct investment needed to enable the country to build a strong, private sector-led economy and inclusive growth that drives employment creation and other economic opportunities for Namibians. Dr Geingob leads a delegation consisting of ministers, senior government officials, and private sector representatives. Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila and Deputy Prime Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah saw the president take off at the Hosea Kutako International Airport.
