Namibia celebrates Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee anniversary

Namibia has joined the United Kingdom and Commonwealth nations in celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee anniversary, marking her accession to the throne. The Queen marked 70 years of service to the people on Thursday, with a series of activities. President Hage Geingob, in a letter to the Queen, hailed her public service to the UK and the Commonwealth, as inspiring. Queen Elizabeth II's leadership journey, Dr Geingob says, has been exceptional and exemplary, during which universal values of democracy, freedom, justice and equality came to define life within the Commonwealth of Nations. The President reiterated Namibia's commitment to strengthen bilateral relations with the UK and further sent well-wishes to the Queen on her 96th birthday.
