NBC employees urged to exercise patience during salary negotiations

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has urged its staff members to exercise patience until the logical conclusion of the negotiation process is reached. In a statement issued a while ago, the NBC negotiation team says the outcome of the wage negotiation has been referred to the board of directors for consideration. The statement says this is the standing rule as outcome of any negotiations are normally pending board approval as management does not have authority to unilaterally agree on such negotiation outcome. A letter to this effect, says NBC sent to NAPWU office this week in which the process was explained. However, the NBC says despite these explanations some employees continue to exert pressure on the union regarding this process which is subject to the board's approval. In the meantime, NAPWU has given the NBC seven days within which to approve and implement the terms of recent wage negotiation.
