Swakopmund G4s security guards accused of stealing N$300 000 denied bail

Two G4s security guards accused of stealing N$300 000 in a cash-in-transit heist at Swakopmund have been denied bail. Ricardo Ochrub and his colleague Wayne Krone made their first court appearance on Monday after police arrested them at DRC on Friday. They have both have been charged under the prevention of organised crime acts as well as theft. The Erongo Region Police say their investigation has revealed strong evidence linking the second suspect Krone to the theft. State prosecutor, Beata Mhwahi opposed bail due to the seriousness of the crime and to allow police investigations. The prosecutor further objected to bail because only N$12 800 dollars was recovered while more suspects are expected to be arrested. Their case has been postponed to 15 November 2021.
