Tanzania's High Commissioner to Namibia, Dr Modestus Kipilimba says President John Pombe Magufuli is in good health and is in Tanzania. This follows reports that Magufuli is hospitalised in neighbouring Kenya. Reports emerged this week claiming that the firebrand politician has not been seen in public for about two weeks now. Some international media houses and opposition leaders in Tanzania further claimed that Magufuli is being treated for COVID-19 and has allegedly been airlifted to India for treatment. High Commissioner, Kipilimba dismissed the reports, saying Magufuli is in Tanzania going about his normal duties. Tanzanian authorities, Dr Kipilimba says, are also adapting to the new normal despite the country not imposing strict measures at the height of COVID-19 last year. He was speaking during an exclusive interview with NBC News in Windhoek.
