Windhoek High Court grants Namibian citizenship to surrogate baby born to same-sex couple

The Windhoek High Court has declared a child born through surrogacy by a same-sex couple, Phillip Luhl and his Mexican-born partner, Guillermo Delgado, a Namibian citizen by descent, in a landmark judgement in the capital today. Judge Thomas Masuku ordered the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security to grant the first-born child, Yona, citizenship within 30 days.
