All 10 teams who previously applied to the Namibia Football Association's newly envisaged league have officially resigned as members of the expelled Namibia Premier League. The decision by the 10 clubs to end their member status with the Namibia Premier League was taken this week, after the teams' application to become members of the new NFA league was accepted by the mother body. This latest development means that all ten teams will form part of the Namibia Football Premier League under the banner of the NFA. Spokesperson of the 10 teams, Lukas Nanyemba, shed more light on the move. “We had a virtual meeting on Monday. Some teams were in attendance and others joined virtually from Rundu and Walvisbay. We all decided to part ways with the NPL after we all were accepted by the NFA to be part of their new top flight league. Our acceptance by the NFA is expected to be rubber stamped by the association's special congress in December” Nanyembala said. If everything goes according to plan, the new Namibia Football Premier League is expected to start in February 2020. Meanwhile, the NFA bound teams also had a meet and greet with the Person Eminent committee that was set up by the line ministry under the Namibia Sports Commission to investigate the problem that led to the current impasse in local Football.
