With the COVID-19 pandemic in the country having halted many sport events in recent months, the AC Boxing stable is planning to host its first tournament of the year in September. AC Boxing's plans to host a boxing bonanza earlier this year were shattered by the outbreak of COVID-19. The stable is only now looking to host their first boxing bonanza in September, even though there will be no fans allowed. Taking a look at recent developments, AC Boxing were also dealt a blow in April this year when the proposed fight between the stable's star boxer Sakaria Lukas and Jessie Magdaleno from America for the WBC World title was cancelled at the eleventh hour due to the pandemic. The founder of the AC Boxing and Fitness Gym Immanuel Moses said the boxing bonanza in September is meant to keep boxers in good shape as no one knows how long the pandemic and its after-effects might still last. “I still feel it is still difficult to host the fight, but now we actually are not going to wait. The youngsters need to improve their records and they are ageing, Our next fight will be on the 26th of September and will be headlined by Flame and Stepanus Nashilongo” Imms Moses said Asking why he is announcing the bout early? ”We don't have a sponsor and we don't have that person that will present the budget, so we need to hustle for the funds. That's why it is good for us to announce the fight two months in advance so that we had enough time to run around and to convince people to attend our event” he added. Currently, AC Boxing boxers are training at the Katutura Hospital's netball court open space.
