Chief Santos knocked out of Debmarine Cup

Besides losing their NPL status, Tsumeb-based Chief Santos had to deal with further defeat, after being kicked out of the Debmarine Cup by Unam over the weekend. Unam got their first goal in the 39th minute of the first half, through Ole Somseb. They went on to dominate the game in the second half, and scored once more in the 13th minute of the second half through Tara Katupose. Four minutes later, Unam added another goal via Lebbius Mwatilefu. Unam created more chances, and registered their fourth goal through Edmund Kambanda. The encounter ended 4- 0 in Unam’s favour. In other game developments: Golden Bees defeated Khomas FC, 4 - 3 on penalties after an initial 0 - 0 draw. Tura Magic won against Swakop FC by 9 goals to -1. Civics thrashed Once Again with 10 goals to 1, while Stars defeated Dynamos 6 - 0. Blue Waters emerged victoriously against Young Chiefs by 2 goals to 1. Eleven Arrows defeated Orlando Pirates in a penalties shoot-out. The quarter- finals draw is as follows: Eleven Arrows will play against African Stars, whereas Civics are having a date with Tura Magic, while Golden Bees are set to face Black Africa. Finally, Unam will play Blue Waters. Head of Competition Titus Kunamuene said they will announce the venue for the quarter- finals later this week.
