Namibian Para-Athlete Roodly Gowaseb, who was preparing for two Grand Prix events which would have been hosted by France and Switzerland respectively, has had quite a tough time during the lockdown with no established way of training. NBC Sport caught up with Namibian wheelchair racer Gowaseb to find out how his livelihood has been affected and altered by COVID-19. Apart from a lack of sufficient training, Gowaseb has also been hit hard financially just like many other athletes worldwide. "COVID-19 has affected my income, as Sport is my main in come. The government grant is there to support me with my personal needs, but it affected me. I just have to pray and hope everything gets back to normal soon" Gowaseb said. Even though these times are hard for athletes in all sport codes, Gowaseb remains optimistic and hopes to return to his normal training schedule from next week onwards. "My fellow athlete, keep up the hope keep praying guys and please keep safe" he added
