JJ Doeseb launches manifesto

Johnny 'JJD" Doeseb, one of four candidates nominated for the presidency of the Namibian Football Association (NFA) launched his manifesto at Windhoek on Thursday morning. Doeseb said he wants to restore the love of the game and bring forward good corporate governance to the structures. In his ten- page manifesto, Doeseb said that his main focus will be to re brand and re-position the brand of football in the country, This, he said will help the much loved game of football to be consistent, exciting and regain trust, most importantly with the players and various stakeholders. Doeseb, the former chairman of the Erongo First Division, stressed that Namibian football is in the midst of chaos and is currently being managed by the FIFA normalization committee, he add that what NFA needs at the moment is a leader with a passion for the game. "What Football need right now is a servant, a leader whose only philosophy is to serve football with foresight, stewardship, growth and development and persuasion and this will also include unpopular decisions being taken in the best interest of the game" he said. Doeseb said he will also put focus on better infrastructure and training facilities for young boys and girls. He is among the four candidates vying for the presidency of the troubled Football body. The other three are Ranga Haikali, Izak Fredericks and Mabos Vries. The rest of the candidates have confirmed to Nbc that they will not be launching any manifesto's, they have also declined invitation to be on Nbc's sports programme 'Soccer Pitch' to discuss their plans for the NFA. The elective congress is scheduled for 22 February, where the Football regional leadership will vote for the president of the Soccer body.
