WINDHOEK - Namibian boxer Walter Kautondokwa retained his WBO Africa middleweight title when he beat Argentina's Billi Godoy on Tuesday through a fifth round technical knockout at Ramatex. Walter Kautondokwa who is also known as the "Knock-Out Specialist" landed some powerful punches on the Argentinian in the first round already. However, the real action only came in the fifth round, when Kautondokwa stroke Godoy with a strong left hook that sent the challenger to the canvas. Kautondokwa has now defended this title for the 6th consecutive time, and according to him, his opponent's punches were not as strong as he expected. “It was a good fight. He knows boxing but he does not have power, and he was feeling the punch” Kautondokwa explained. On the other side, Godoy blamed the referee for ending the fight early as he was allegedly ready to continue. "We would like to have a rematch, as this was a very important fight for us. The referee stopped it early, as I was ready to fight," he said. The event's promoter, Nestor Tobias, who also double as Kautondokwa’s trainer announced that they are now eyeing for a world title. “Every fight is very important for every boxer. We are going home motivated, to see whether we can get a world title, that’s the dream of every fighter,” Tobias said. Kautondokwa now boasts with a clean record of winning all his 17 fights, with 16 knock-outs.
