Kick Boxers return home champions

Gaborone-The Namibian national kickboxing team returned home as champions from the African Continental Games, which took place in Gaborone, Botswana. It was the first time that a Namibian team took part in the championship, with the team representing different regions in the country. The championships was an all-platform, multi-disciplined martial arts tournament, held on the continent with five countries in attendance. The Namibian team did exceptionally well and the team's display of fighting was of a very high standard, bringing back, 5 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze in the points sparring category, and 8 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze in continuous sparring category. President of the Namibian Kickboxing Federation, Anita de Klerk, said that the tour was well organized and many friendships has been made. "We made many friends and connections was established with the African Continent and the United Kingdom / Germany. The World Championship will be held in 2019 in New Delhi, India. This African Continental Games was very successful championship as the Namibian National team did exceptionally well and it is a great honour for me to be part of the Martial Arts family"De Klerk said. The Namibian Kickboxing Federation is planning to host the African Continental Games in 2020.
