Mungandjela loses out on first title fight

MTC Nestor Sunshine Promotions prospect, Emmanuel “The Lion” Mungandjela has lost out on a golden opportunity to fight for his first title in Belarus, East Germany due to the persistent challenges – including travel restrictions – resulting from Covid-19. Mungandjela was offered a fight in Minsk, Belarus, which was set to take place on the 26th of July against Nursultan Zanaghabayv for the WBA Welterweight International title over 10 rounds. Promoter Nestor Tobias explained that this could have been a golden opportunity for Mungandjela to fight away from home and for an international title. “‘During the lockdown none of our boxers or any other boxer could train and taking a fight on such short notice would be very foolish, even if our borders were open. We prefer to put the well-being of our boxers first” Tobias said. He added that they will ensure that all their professional boxers regain their full fitness and have test fights, before they can pursue their quest for world glory again. At this point in time, Mungandjela boasts a record of 17 bouts, with 13 wins, three losses and one draw.
