Jeremiah Nakathila defended his WBO Global Lightweight Africa title successfully Saturday night, when he beat Peter Pambeni as per a technical knockout. Peter Pambeni of Zimbabwe came into this fight after winning his previous three encounters in Namibia. But Jeremiah Nakathila wasn't lacking confidence after winning his last 7 fights. The visitor gave the Namibian an early scare as he got him in the first round. Nakathila, who never lost a fight at home, however managed to grow in the fight and started dominating the proceedings. As a result, he got his opponent on his knees in the 7th round. The 29-year-old Nakathila never looked back and put his opponent under pressure until his Pambeni retired in the 8th round of what was supposed to be 12 rounder battle. Nakathila is now ranked 2nd in the WBO world ranking and may challenge the mandatory world title
