This weekend, Namibian boxers dominated the MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias boxing event, also known as "Champions in Action". Apart from Jeremiah Nakathila who defended his WBO Global Junior Lightweight title successfully, there were other victories for local boxers. The event saw Namibia's Jeremiah Nakathila defending his WBO Global Junior Lightweight as he stopped his Zimbabwean counterpart Peter Pambeni in the 8th round. Meanwhile, Harry Simon Junior took up to the fourth round to halt Malawian Limbani Chipaka through a technical knockout. The 22-year-old Simon continued with a good start to his professional career with his tenth win in ten fights. Another Zimbabwean then became the casualty of Namibian supremacy. Thembani Mhlanga could only keep up with Namibia's Charles Shinima's powerful punches until the second round, when he went down to another technical knockout. Namibia's Fillipus Nghitumbwa barely broke a sweat as he was too good for Ronald Tamani from Zimbabwe. Nhitumbwa got his man down in the second round. In other bouts, Paulus Amavilla from the 21 BDE Boxing Gym beat Michael Kambungu of the Soweto Boxing Club with a technical knockout in the fourth round. Abed Shikongo from the Salute Boxing Academy narrowly edged Erongo Boxing Club's David Haufiku. The close contested bout went to the judges score cards after four rounds of boxing and Shikongo won as per a split decision. Another split decision worked in favour of Fillimon Ngutenya from Erongo Boxing Club as he beat Japhet Amukwa from Nampol boxing club after four rounds.
