Namibian TISAN team finish 5th overall at FISU World University Netball Championships

By:Katrina Gowases The Namibian TISAN team has finished 5th overall at the FISU 2016 World University Netball Championships in Florida. Twelve countries competed for top spots over five days at the event, which ended yesterday. The Namibians started off the competition with points awarded to them after Trinidad and Togo could not field a full team. They, however, suffered their first defeat to neighbours South Africa by 74 points to 30 in the match that followed. Recovering quickly, the TISAN team then thrashed USA 63-14 , but went down again to Australia in their next match. On Saturday, Namibia recorded another 64-24 win over USA to book a place in the plate finals. . They took on the full Trinidad and Tobago team and outclassed them by 52-39 to emerge victorious. South Africa won the competition after beating Jamaica 43-39 in the finals.
