Nawanga claims Tsumeb Shoka tour

By: Lesley Tjiueza Joe Nawanga wins the Syntex Pro-am golf day in Tsumeb by 4 under par fron Marlon Swarts. Graham Fransman finished with 78 shotsin Tsumeb on Saturday. The Shoka Pro-am is aimed at keeping Namibian Professionals busy. In a pool of 75 golfers who turned out at Tsumeb Nawanga, Edward Kutara, Marlon Swartz and Graham Fransman were the professionals and they showed the amateurs just how its done with great shots over and over. Nawanga said he enjoyed the course. “I enjoyed the course today. I was leading with 4 shots until at the 9th hole but Swartz closed the gap but I managed to do well here.”Said Hawanga For the Amateurs though it was not a walk in the park as some struggled. The tournament had 2 ladies who were a little rough around the edges but showed great potential to which Tournament director Frans Katjimune had this to say. “We have made the entries free for juniors and ladies to encourage ladies to participate.” Concluded Katjimune The next leg of the Shoka Pro am is in Swakopmund in August.
