Namibia Premier league referee Samuel Nghipandulwa travelled to Brazil on Friday, to officiate at the Iber Cup from the 20th to the 26th of January. The 23-year-old Nghipandulwa who hails from Ruacana in the Omusati region, has once again been invited by an organisation known as "Referee Abroad" to form part of the youth tournament in Porto Alegre. Referees Abroad is an organisation which scouts young talent from across globe and groom them to become world class referees. The Iber Cup is the second biggest Youth tournament in South America, attracting over three hundred international youth Football teams from 25 countries. Nghipandulwa previously officiated at the Gothia Cup in China last year, on the invite of Referee Abroad as well. So far i have achieved, the like let me talk about China, whereby i was appointed to officiate the final, which is really amazing. It means a lot to me especially to my Football Association NFA, so it was really a nice achievement for me because i come back with a Gold medal. I hope I will repeat the same" Nghipandulwa said. He said the opportunity means a lot to him, especially in his career as he is getting international opportunities. "My aim is to earn a FIFA badge when i reach the minimum age and work my way towards by appearing at FIFA World Cup" he added. Currently he cannot officiate CAF games, because of the age limit which is 25 and which he hasn't reached yet.
