The Namibia Hockey Union's Bank Windhoek Indoor Hockey league continued this past weekend where they left off before COVID-19 began in Namibia in March this year. As such, the women and men's Hockey teams kicked off activities once again at the DTS hall in Windhoek. The Hockey league event saw 26 people per game plus two umpires, who were allowed to play. This made it 12 players per team with one coach each. NBC sport spoke to DTS coach Sedric Makati, who explained that it is important to finish the league this year. “There are still two weeks left that we have to get through. We are looking at the situation at the coast, because we have three clubs that also have to play” Makati said. NBC also caught up with two women hockey players who were happy to get active again after months of absence. Petro Stofberg said “It's been really difficult, because contact sport wasn't allowed. We were only allowed to focus on our fitness and even that was difficult, because we couldn't train with our teammates” “It was really an interesting experience to get back into Hockey again, because it has been two months that we weren't allowed to practice," fellow player Anje Kruger added. Makati then said that they are monitoring the situation closely in Khomas and the rest of the country to make sure that all precautionary measures are followed.
