This past weekend, the Okahandja Rugby Club hosted a sports fun day as part of their preparation for the upcoming league games. If everything goes as planned, Okahandja will soon participate in the Namibia Rugby Union's league. The last time Okahandja had a rugby team playing for the NRU was roughly 15 years ago. Feeling that it was necessary to embrace a new momentum and hopefully future successes, Okahandja Rugby Club hosted a sports fun day, for players to get a chance to mingle with the community. "We want the community to come together and help us. The ladies are participating in the league as well. All premier league teams will compete against each other, so we just bring people together, friends and family members to assist the ladies to prepare for the games”Coetzee said. According to the club's chairperson Ferdi Coetzee, the boys will play in the first division against Unam, Rehoboth and Wanderers. Both men's and ladies' games are expected to kick off in August, but due to the coronavirus pandemic still spreading rapidly in the country, there is some uncertainty regarding the fixtures.
