Cricket Namibia's Chief Executive Officer Johan Muller said that the Senior National Team players are all on specifically designed, individual schedules as they continue their preparations for the upcoming Cricket World Cup in Australia in October. It has been about six months since Namibia's Eagles qualified for the T20 Cricket World Cup down under in Australia, which is set to take place from 18 October to 15 November. With the corona virus pandemic however leaving a massive impact on almost all sporting events locally as well as internationally, the players are faced with no game time which could have allowed them to prepare properly for the World Cup. “I think with pretty much where every other elite sportsman in the world currently is that you cannot really follow, especially in terms of team preparations you cannot follow your normal preparation schedule. You cannot prepare anything related to a team, but our head coach has been very proactive, his already worked on individual schedules with the players to work on very specific skills wherever they are base" Muller said. With the Netherlands friendly which was supposed to take place this past weekend cancelled and with the Series against Nepal and Scotland also going to be moved to new dates, Muller said what will get the players through these trying times is self-discipline. "They are doing an intensified skills and conditioning exercises. They are still looking after their diets and their health, but own responsibility. One of the main areas that a national team must now focus on, is not to get any worse than you are and to maintain your existing level. It will actually mean that you are gonna be above the other countries when everyone gets back into it"Muller added. Namibia is paired with Bangladesh, Netherlands and Scotland in the same group for what will be the country's second appearance at a Cricket world cup since they last qualified for the 50 overs tournament way back in 2003
