With the 15's Rugby season only kicking off in March this year, local teams have taken it upon themselves to begin a little earlier by hosting a few tournaments in the month of February. Local Rugby teams across the country are already in the peak of their pre-season preparations with three, two -day tournaments already scheduled for the month of February. First on the list is defending champions United as they start the pre-season with a 10-a-side tournament on the 7th and 8th of February. Following last year’s success head coach Robert Dickson expressed his excitement to kick off the season. "It’s a good way to see what the new players can bring and to see if the first three weeks of training and fitness paid off. Apart from that it’s a nice way to kick off the year and to see all the rugby colleagues from around the country again" Dickson said. As for the other two tournaments, they will be hosted by Wanderers and Western Suburbs, with Wanderers celebrating their 100th year on the 22 and 23 of February. While Suburbs well being using the Hage Geingob stadium to host their 7's tournament on the 28 and 29 of February.
