Shikongo wins gold

Namibian sprinter Ananias Shikongo and his guide Even Tjiviju won the first gold medal for Namibia at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games underway in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They won the medal in the men’s T11, 200 metre (m) after beating defending champion Felipe Gomes from Brazil and his guide Jonas de Lima Silva with a new improved Paralympic record of 22.44 seconds. This is now the fourth medal for team Namibia. They have won one gold, two silvers and a bronze.
