Team Moses jets off to USA

Namibia's most decorated boxer, Paulus 'The Hitman' Moses and his team departed to the US last night for his upcoming WBO title fight, against Raymundo Beltran, from Mexico. The much-anticipated clash will take place on 16 February in Navada, USA. The 39-year-old Paulus Moses, nicknamed 'The Hitman', will be fighting on American soil for the first time and is in good form after going unbeaten in nearly three years. Accompanied by his long term manager, Nestor Tobias and his trainer Siegfried Kaperu, the soft spoken former world champion promised his fans, shortly before departing, that he is ready for some action in the ring. "I pushed myself hard in the gym. I am going to deliver. I am ready to bring the world title back to Namibia," said Moses. His Mexican opponent, however, is fighting for more than just a world title as he looks to apply for permanent residence in the US. A victory will be a huge boost in his application. Moses' promoter, who doubles as his manager, Nestor Tobias, urged local boxing fans to rally behind his boxer as they are about to turn another page in boxing history. "Hitman has been there before and he wants to do it again for Namibia and Africa. He needs all our local fans behind him, so the nation must pray for us," said Tobias. The title became vacant after Terry Flanagan from the UK moved up a weight division.
