Warriors suffer massive defeat to Guinea in their CHAN opener

Namibia's Brave Warriors suffered a massive three-nil defeat to Guinea in their African Nations Championships Opener in Cameroon on Tuesday night. Namibia came into the game without ever having recorded a victory against Guinea in their previous eight attempts. Their start into the game did not help their cause, as Yakhouba Barry took advantage of Immanuel Heita's sloppy play and gave Guinea the lead in the 13th minute. Namibia came close to an equaliser when Ambrosius Amseb's free-kick was saved by Sakouba Camara in Guinea's goal. The West Africans doubled their lead just before half time with a well-taken goal by Morlaye Sally. It was Guinea again, who had the final say in the match, as Barry scored a brace with four minutes remaining. The encounter ended three-nil for Guinea. In the other match of the same group, Zambia beat Tanzania by two goals to nil. Collin Sikombe broke the deadlock in the 64th minute for Chipolopolo Then, Immanuel Shabula added a second for Zambia, with six minutes remaining. As it stands, Guinea and Zambia have taken charge of the group, while the Brave Warriors are at the bottom. Meanwhile, the production team in Cameroon apologised to the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation for the break up in the feed that was experienced during the Namibia - Guinea match.
