Five incidents of rape involving minors have been reported to the Namibian Police over the weekend.

The youngest victim is a 7-year-old girl who was allegedly raped under coercive circumstances by a 30-year-old man at the Okambogo village in the Onyaana area. The suspect has been arrested and will appear in court on Monday.

A 10-year-old girl allegedly fell victim to rape in the Onesie Constituency's Omalyadhila village; the suspect is known but no arrest has been made, and police investigations continue.

A 15-year-old Ongwediva minor was allegedly raped after a suspect threatened her and made sexual advances toward her. The victim was on her way back from school to her home when the suspect grabbed her and threatened her. The suspect is known, but now that an arrest has been made, police investigations continue.

An adult male is alleged to have raped a 14-year-old girl in the Oshiweda village in the Kunene Region. It is further alleged that the suspect had in the past raped the same girl on four other occasions at different locations; the suspect is known, but the police have not executed an arrest. Investigations continue.

A 26-year-old Kavango East resident is accused of raping an 11-year-old minor. It is alleged that the man found his cousin sleeping in the room, covered her mouth with his hands, and allegedly had sexual intercourse with the minor. The police report that the two are cousins and live in the same house. Police investigations continue.
