Finland's President Sauli Niinistö met with Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila at State House this morning.

Niinistö informed Kuugongelwa-Amadhila that Finland is ready to collaborate with Namibia in areas that can be mutually beneficial.

"150 years is a long time, we have learned to know each other, and now that we are looking to the future, it is a valuable asset that we know, it helps us also to answer for the future which I want to tell you there is a business delegation that is trying to find ways that we both can benefit together."

The premier stated that the two countries have a long history, based on strong foundations which is conducive to building mutually beneficial cooperation.

The meeting between President Niinisto and  Kuugongelwa-Amadhila continued behind closed doors.

Shortly after, the Finnish President sat down with the speaker of the National Assembly, Professor Peter Katjavivi, who echoed the long-standing cordial relationship between the two countries.

The two countries are continuously strengthening their relations said Katjavivi, he also highlighted the working relationship between the parliaments of Namibia and Finland.

"The pandemic has given us the push in a direction to transform and make sure that we adapt to parliament meeting with technology, to facilitate communication, we produced a strategic plan called e-parliament" 

President, Sauli Niinistö also addressed the business forum where he said that his country's businesses are ready to help Namibia achieve her dream with Green Hydrogen projects and sustainable mining with their advanced technologies. 

Other sectors of interest include education, connectivity, and transport. 

The  President of Finland, Sauli Niinisto has concluded his two-day state visit to Namibia today.
