The lifeless body of a man with missing upper limbs and private parts, was discovered floating in the flood waters near Mponje Village in Lisikili in the Zambezi Region.

The discovery was made by a passing fisherman.

The body has been positively identified as that of 38-year-old Kapali Mate who was reported missing last Saturday after going out with friends.

His next of kin have been informed.

Police reported that the naked and partly decomposed body was discovered without arms and private parts.

Zambezi Police Regional Crime Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner, Kenneth Simbwae says no one has been arrested in connection with the suspected murder, and investigations are at an advanced stage.

In an unrelated incident, passers-by found a woman, battered and bruised during the early house of Saturday morning, being dragged away from a bar at the New Cowboy Compound into nearby bushes.

One suspect was arrested in connection with the suspected assault, and the victim was taken to the Katima Mulilo State Hospital, where she is receiving treatment.

In another episode from the same bar, police are investigating the possible assault and kidnapping of a woman. 

Police have so far found clothes believed to belong to the missing woman. Simbwae says investigations into that case are also at an advanced stage.
