A 44-year-old resident of Oipapakane Village, Elizabeth Joseph, is seeking urgent medical assistance following a snake bite that resulted in the loss of two of her limbs—an arm and a leg.

Despite receiving medical treatment and being in and out of the hospital, her condition has not shown any signs of improvement.

In 2015, Joseph reportedly suffered a snake bite while working at a plastic and paper recycling company in Omafo, in the Ohangwena Region.

She was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

Unfortunately, despite medical intervention, Joseph's health did not improve.

In 2016, her left arm had to be amputated, followed by the removal of her leg in 2018.

The condition of her remaining leg has worsened, causing severe pain, discoloration, and swelling, rendering her unable to perform any duties.

Up until the incident, she was her family's only breadwinner.

Recently, Joseph's plight caught the attention of the Ohangwena police women's network, which came across her distress call on social media.

They donated food items, blankets, a mattress, and other necessities to provide some relief to Joseph and her family.

However, the long-term implications of her injuries require ongoing medical attention.

Joseph is currently experiencing a distressing and frightening situation, as her right leg is oozing worms. Besides causing extreme discomfort, it also fills her with fear.
