Key stakeholders involved in the Onderombapa-Aminuis to Aranos road project gathered to address challenges concerning the road's progress.

The objective is to complete the road and upgrade it to full bitumen standards by 2025.

One of the focal points of the discussion revolved around employment opportunities, and local community members raised concerns about not being adequately considered in the recruitment process.

According to Conrad Lutombi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Road Authority, the records indicate that local individuals are currently undertaking more than 60% of the work, which aligns with the contractual obligations.

Regarding the relocation of the campsite, Lutombi expressed concerns about the potential cost implications of moving it to the Hardap Region.

Recognising the significance of the road project as a national undertaking, the CEO emphasises the need to resolve the differences between the contractor and the lodge owner in an amicable manner.

Peter Kazongominja, the constituency council member, has highlighted that the engagement yielded new updates regarding the recruitment process for the road project.

He urges all relevant entities involved to ensure timely communication of information to prevent any potential suspension of the project.
