The National Youth Service (NYS) and Rundu Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) have joined forces to collaborate on sharing best practises, enhancing capacity, and refining professional skills.

The parties recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Rietfontein Training Centre.

In terms of the agreement, the parties will extend attachment opportunities to trainees within mutually determined fields of study.

They will further collaborate in the process of quality assurance for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

This partnership will particularly benefit trainees specialising in business services, agriculture, welding, bricklaying, plumbing, and joinery.

"The MoU will provide for our meaningful cooperation in terms of supporting national services and us supporting you in areas that will require mutual support. The specific area we are looking at is agriculture. You are very strong in agriculture; from what I saw there, you have a centre pivot that we don't have, and we are trying to acquire one if possible so that we maximise our production," said Dr. Felix Musukubili, the NYS Commissioner.

"A lot will be achieved through this MoU this formalisation will allow for skills and knowledge sharing as well as to share the best practises to TVET as e strive to provide quality training to a Namibian child," Centre Manager at RVTC, Kornelius Lucas, said on this part.

Both parties undertook to provide annual updates on the progress of the agreement's implementation for the upcoming five years.
