A person died on the spot Saturday evening in a head-on collision involving two vehicles on the B8 Trans Zambezi Highway near the New Cow Boy compound in the Zambezi Region.

One more person died on Sunday in the Katima Mulilo State Hospital.

According to reports, a head-on collision occurred between two vehicles, a Toyota Corolla and a Nissan Note, when the driver of the Corolla, with four occupants, attempted to overtake another vehicle.

The driver died on the spot, and his immediate family has not yet been notified.

In order to extract some of the passengers, the police used the jaws of life to cut through the Corolla.

The police are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident.
