The Chief Executive Officer of Andrada Mining says collaboration is needed between the government and the private sector in the mining industry.
Anthony Viljoen made the remarks in an interview with nbc News at the Mining Expo and Conference in Windhoek.
"I think a lot of collaboration between the government and the private sector needs to take place; there has always been some level of distrust."
According to Viljoen, Namibia continues to be the best place for investment, especially in the Erongo Region.
"We are very proud to be associated with Namibia. We have had investors from all over the world participate, and I see that in two to three years there is going to be a huge transformation."
With a workforce of 400 Namibians, Viljoen says it is the duty of Andranda Mining to plough back into the communities in which it operates.
"We have now employed four hundred people, we have invested N$700 million, and our work force is 99% Namibian."
Andrada is a technological metals mining company operating in Uis in the Erongo Region.
The mining company focuses on tin, lithium, and tantalum.
