The Brave Warriors have qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, after Cameroon defeated Burundi by 3 to 0 in the last group match decider in which Cameroon and Namibia made it through from a tightly contested group C.

They are joining four other COSAFA teams.

The Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers concluded last night with the final two spots filled by Cameroon and Namibia following the group C conclusion last night.

Cameroon ended the group on top with seven points, followed by Namibia on five points and Burundi in third on four points. Kenya was the fourth team in the group but they were disqualified - leaving only three active teams. 

This will be the Brave Warriors' fourth qualification to the continental showpiece. They made their first appearance in 1998, followed by another qualification in 2008 and 2019 respectively.

For this year's edition, Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, South Africa and Zambia are the only five teams from COSAFA that have qualified. 
 
Now with the ticket to Cote d'Ivoire secured, there have been reactions from the local football fraternity but notably those of the NFA's Secretary General Jochen Traut and the Brave Warriors most capped player, Denzil Haoseb. 

Other countries that have booked their place at the AFCON are; Host Ivory Coast, Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, DR Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, The Gambia, Tunisia and Zambia. 

The next stop is the world cup qualifiers that await Namibia as they have a date with Equatorial Guinea on the 13th of  November before travailing to Sao Tome on November 20th.
