The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation has expressed concern at the unfortunate incident during which a Namibian national lost his eyesight in Johannesburg, South Africa, last week.
In a statement, the High Commission of the Republic of Namibia in Pretoria, together with the South African authorities, are in the process of establishing the facts surrounding the incident and bringing the culprits to justice. The Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation has called for calm while investigations are being conducted, saying Namibia continues to maintain cordial relations with South Africa.
The victim is receiving treatment at the Central Hospital in Windhoek, and the ministry wishes him the best of recovery.
