The announcement of the Namibia Annual Sports Awards finalists took place on Monday at the nbc headquarters in Windhoek. Menesia Muinjo, the chief of news and programming at the nbc, emphasized the corporation's role as partners in this initiative. 

"The nbc has recently created a dedicated sports division, which aims to further increase the coverage of various sports codes across the country, with focus on regional sport content, on Radio, television and online as part of enhancing  our partnership to develop sport in Namibia, The nbc leadership has also of late been visiting various stakeholders with focus on sports codes representatives of sport  officers in various regions and the aim was to gain collaborate with them in the development of sport"

Muinjo also urged potential stakeholders to contribute and ensure the success of the event, with a particular focus on community sports development. The Namibia Annual Sports Awards ceremony will be held on October 28th at the MTC Dome in Swakopmund.

"Broadcasting this events, the Annual Sport Awards announcements and the actual sports award event can be costly and the nbc and the National Sport Commission together with the current partners alone can not sustain it, we need your support, businesses please come on board for the sake of the Namibian child"
