The Swapo Party Vice President has reminded party members and supporters to remain united and disciplined on all fronts, also calling on members to focus on strategic economic opportunities for national development.
Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah remarked this during a Swapo Party Rally at Gobabis.
Nandi-Ndaitwah emphasised unity of purpose as a cornerstone of progress and nation-building, saying it should be embraced with discipline.
She stressed that the nation faces numerous challenges, including infrastructure, education and skills development, and the obligation to uplift vulnerable communities, saying these should be addressed, within the party's mandate, through good governance.
"When we are talking about the big issue, which is economic liberation, we are talking about how to add value to our natural resources. Nation-building cannot come when some are hungry and some are touching gold. Therefore, fellow Namibians, we must rally, be focused on how we grow our economy, create wealth, and bring about prosperity for all, and we have the capacity to achieve that goal."
Swapo Party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa and Regional Party Coordinator in the Omaheke Region Ruth Kaukuata Mbura also engaged party members at the rally.
The party also welcomed new members.
