The Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters have reiterated their demands for the allocation of fishing quotas to address unemployment in the country.
The Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters (NEEF) want unemployed people to get jobs in the fishing industry through the Governmental Objective Fishing Quota.
The party mobilised jobless youth to petition the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources at Walvis Bay.
In April, the group handed over another petition to demand fishing quotas to address unemployment, but the spokesperson says there was no response from the ministry.
The minister has been given until December 15 to respond to the demands, and failure to do so, the group says, will mean a loss of faith in the leadership of the ministry.
NEEF has threatened to embark on a national protest to demand the removal of the minister and executive director if there is no response.
