In a heartwarming gesture ahead of the festive season, homeless individuals taking shelter at the Katutura Youth Centre were treated to lunch packs, courtesy of a collaborative effort between Namib Mills and Epupa Investment Technology.
This early Christmas initiative brought much-needed cheer and support to the residents.
The initiative, aimed at helping the less fortunate with food items, started in 2021 in Omaruru.
Top Score brand chef Coennie Muundjua says helping the needy has always been a dream and to put a smile on their faces.
The focus is mainly on elderly and homeless people.
"We went to Katutura old age home; this year June we also gave to elders; we do not focus on tribes; we focus where we think we can help; this is just a social thing."
Top Score's Junior Brand Manager, Diego Talaya, says the handover is part of the organisation's drive to give back to the community.
"We have a monthly donation that goes out to different organisations around the country, and they collect the food from our depot, but this is one of many; it is not the first time, and it is not the last; it is a yearly, monthly commitment."
Epupa Investment Technology's representative, Kasikile Kambiri, explains that the organisation helps where it can to meet the government halfway.
"The main sponsor that has been running is now Namib Mills, and as Epupa, we have the need to be part of these kind gestures, and here we go all the way to make sure that we provide for the needy. out
