The Ovambanderu Traditional Authority concluded its 2023 activities with the inauguration of a sub-station commando at Otjijarua in the Epukiro Constituency. 

The commando serves as an assembly point for special gatherings.

A member of the Traditional Council of Ovambanderu Traditional Authority, Marama Murangi, emphasised that the establishment of the commando at Otjijarua aims to bring services closer to the people. 

Recognizing the distance of other commandos, Murangi highlighted the need for timely information dissemination to communities.

Murangi believes this initiative will engage young people, preserving cultural and traditional norms from a tender age. 

"This is a place where people have resided and passed on, recognising their significant role. That's why we've set up this sub-station as a gathering place for the Ovambanderu Traditional Authority to plan and organise themselves."
